I find these red calcite specimens from Mexico so interesting. Pictures don't do them justice, but you will love them in person. They are so interesting. That calcite covers goethite along with other minerals. There are some interesting maroon velvety botryoidal features, and pockets. The dark spots are velvet dark and fascinating when they are coated with the calcite. Just. so. cool!
