Lapis Sphere

The bluest of blue lapis in the form of a sphere. It has pyrite flecks and quartz veins swirled in. Perfect size to twirl around your fingers. Aside from the beauty of lapis I love it's history. Historians believe the link between humans and lapis lazuli stretches back more than 6,500 years. The gem was treasured by the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, Greece, and Rome. When I look it I like to think of it in these ancient civilizations, worn in jewelry, inlaid in mosaics, and traded for goods.
