The Utah Topaz is so stunning with it's champagne color and glossy crystal surfaces. This specimen's crystal on matrix and is so sweet to examine up close. Topaz is the state gem of Utah and is found in Juab County. The crystals formed within cavities of the Topaz Mountain Rhyolite, a volcanic rock which erupted approximately six to seven million years ago (Tertiary Period) from volcanic vents along faults in the area. You can go there and mine these yourself. A beautiful and lovely american mineral. Keep them out of direct sunlight, as they can loose their lovely champagne color over time.
